The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The pens and the book possibly represent record-keeping as one of the essential activities of certified public accountants. The maple leaves represent Canada. The sprig of three maple leaves is also found in the arms of Ontario.

Motto

This Latin phrase means “Through difficulties to the heights.”
