Symbolism

Arms

The arching shapes allude to the roadways on which Mr. Meunier drove during his career as a truck driver. Blue and gold are the colours of the Royal Arms of France and of those of the seigneurs of Clermont-Créans, in Anjou, where his ancestor Mathurin Meunier (LeMonnier) immigrated from.

Crest

The millstone makes a reference to Mr. Meunier’s surname (meaning “miller” in French), and by extension emphasizes the importance of family for him. The Canadian breed horses represent the importance of hard work, and symbolize the fact that his ancestors worked as farmers. The white rose honours his wife, Henriette Renaud.

Motto

These French words, which mean “Nevertheless,” reflect Mr. Meunier’s will to always move ahead in spite of the risks in life.

Differenced Arms for Micheline Meunier, child of Eugène Meunier

The paw prints indicate her love for felines.

Differenced Arms for Carol Meunier, child of Eugène Meunier

The arrow refers to his profession as a telecommunications technician.

Differenced Arms for Louise Meunier, child of Eugène Meunier

The key alludes to her work in the municipal sector.

Differenced Arms for Johanne Meunier, child of Eugène Meunier

The scroll indicates her profession in the area of project management with the Government of Canada.

Differenced Arms for Yves Meunier, child of Eugène Meunier

The cleaver indicates his work as manager of a butcher’s shop.

Differenced Arms for Mario Meunier, child of Eugène Meunier
