Arms
The wavy band recalls the Atlantic Ocean that Mr. Picard’s ancestors crossed to settle in New France. The three houses on the wavy band are a reference to the family name “Des Trois-Maisons” (“Of three houses”), which was the name borne by Mr. Picard’s ancestors. The arquebuses refer to the metal casting trade of his ancestors who manufactured barrels for arquebuses.

The dragon highlights Mr. Picard’s interest in martial arts. That mythical animal holds a place of importance in the oriental bestiary and is often associated with martial arts.
