Arms

The dark red evokes the colour of blood. The snake-entwined rod alludes to the rod of Aesculapius, the Greco-Roman god of medicine. The blue saltire on white is inspired by the arms and flag of Nova Scotia, where the Society is located.

Motto

This phrase is a reminder of the doctor’s purpose.
