The airplane refers to the work of an Aircraft Maintenance Superintendent. Shown in a futuristic style, it represents all types of aircraft, be they rotary, fixed wing or even unmanned. The Royal Crown represents service to the Sovereign. The badge composed of one or two wings, a laurel wreath and the Royal Crown is common to all trade and occupational badges of the Canadian Armed Forces.
