Arms
The shield is based on the coat of arms of the Diocese of Newfoundland. It reflects the fact that the school was established by this diocese within the Anglican Church. The book symbolizes education.
Crest
The bishop’s mitre alludes to the name of the school.
Motto
This Latin phrase taken from the Bible means “Let us praise illustrious men” (Ecclesiasticus 44:1).
