The heraldic sea-horse indicates the unit’s role as a work horse of the sea. The Breton breed is a heavy horse used to carry or pull large loads.
Motto
This Latin phrase meaning “With fuel comes strength” describes the role of the unit in sustaining the strength of the fleet by supplying fuel.
