Symbolism
Badge
Green represents the verdant area of the National Capital Region of Canada. The column, which has a supporting function, alludes to the unit’s name. It represents jurisdiction of the unit on both sides of the Ottawa River, symbolized by the blue bar. The column also suggests a bridge between the two municipalities of Ottawa and Gatineau. The blue further evokes the Rideau Canal, epitomizing the construction heritage of the region.
Motto
Meaning “Support mission success,” this Latin phrase refers to both the unit’s purpose and name.
