This Royal Cypher is His Majesty’s personal device. It consists of the initial of the monarch’s name, Charles, and title, Rex, Latin for “King,” together with his regnal number in Roman numerals. The Royal Crown, shown in the version known as the Tudor Crown, is a heraldic emblem of The King.
