Symbolism
Arms
The golf clubs and curling stone allude to the club’s principal activities, while the fox evokes its history as a hunting club. Green represents both the golf course and the historic hunting ground. Red, green and gold have long been colours used by the club in its emblems.
Crest
The hawk symbolizes the club’s longstanding ties to the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for golf courses, as well as the wildlife that has been protected by the club’s parkland acreage for over a century. The golf flagstick is traditionally used to show the location of holes on golfing greens.
Supporters
The horses refer to the club’s hunting origins. The field alludes to Groveland, a 19th-century homestead and farm on whose grounds the club was established in 1908.
Motto
These English and French words, meaning “Mutual aid, collegiality, respect,” represent the club’s values and principles.
Flag
