The recipient’s emblems were originally recorded in the 1666 Heralds’ visitation of Newcastle, England, with the supporters recorded in the records of the College of Arms, London, England, 4 July 1801. The acquisition of this painting has been sponsored by the Royal Heraldry Society of Canada.
