The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The ship is a canting reference to Mr. Shipp’s surname. The border of masonry likely represents his long career in residential and commercial development. The ermine spots likely refer to Mr. Shipp’s wife, June Catharine Ingram, as this pattern is commonly found in the arms of persons bearing the surname Ingram.
Crest
The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The apples allude to Mr. Shipp’s development of the Applewood Acres neighbourhood in Mississauga, Ontario. The maple leaves represent his Canadian identity.
Motto
This Latin phrase means “Order in all things.”
