This expression in Scottish Gaelic means “A path that will not allow retreat,” and has often been translated as “No retreating footsteps.” It has historic significance having been used as a motto by two now obsolete Nova Scotia regiments, The North Nova Scotia Highlanders and The Cumberland Highlanders.
