The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The stirrup likely alludes to the racehorse farm that Major-General Mann and his wife ran after the Second World War. The maple leaves represent his Canadian identity.

The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The charger – or warhorse – likely alludes both to MGen Mann’s military career in the Second World War as well as to his horse farm. The sword is also indicative of his combat service and the rank he achieved in the Canadian Army.
Supporters
The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The deer are a reference to his estate, Deers Bush. The sprig of three gold maple leaves is taken from the arms of the Province of Ontario. The collar of crosses possibly alludes to MGen Mann’s appointment as a Commander of the Order of the British Empire, the insignia of which is in the form of this type of cross.
