Symbolism

Arms

The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The chevron is common to the arms of individuals with the surnames Parkin, Parkins or Parker. The maple leaf symbolizes Mr. Parkin’s Canadian nationality. The white rose is the emblem of the County of Yorkshire in England, where he was born, in addition to that of the Borough of North York, his place of residence.

Crest

The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The battlements likely allude to Mr. Parkin’s career as an architect. The maple leaf repeats the symbolism of the Arms.

This Latin phrase means “Gently in manner, vigorously in performance.”
