Symbolism
Arms
Blue and white are the colours of Israel, where Mr. Fathi was born, and of Judaism. The blue also refers to the bodies of water in Canada, reflecting his childhood dream to come to a land with many lakes and open spaces. Resembling the pieces of a puzzle fitting together, the pattern of shapes alludes to Mr. Fathi’s entrepreneurial career of developing thriving businesses and helping build up communities. The pattern also represents his focus on the realm of artificial intelligence, in which different elements of technology are brought together to function as a whole, capable of sustaining and developing itself. The segments can also refer to crutch-heads and, by extension, the idea of supporting others. The heraldic term associated with them, potent, has the same origin as the word “potential,” and thus alludes to Mr. Fathi’s belief in the importance of encouraging the potential of others. The upward pointing divisions refer to aspiration and progress.
Crest
The polar bear is a majestic and powerful Canadian animal much admired by Mr. Fathi. The scaling ladder refers to his belief in encouraging others to achieve their full potential, and to the idea of “scaling up” businesses. The orchids are Mr. Fathi’s favourite flower.
Motto
This phrase exemplifies Mr. Fathi’s goal to create positive change through developing new technology, building up businesses that benefit many people, and contributing to the community.
Flag
The symbolism of this emblem is found in other element(s) of this record.
Badge
The lighthouse is found in the arms of Tel Aviv, Israel, Mr. Fathi’s birthplace. It also serves as a metaphor for his belief in guiding others. The orchid repeats the symbolism of the Crest.
