The wheels are a pun on the surname Turner, which originally referred to a person who turned mill wheels. The anchor reflects Mr. Turner’s service as a lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve.
Crest
The garb of wheat is found in the arms of Cheshire, the county in England where Mr. Turner was born and raised. The celestial crown is taken from the arms of the Diocese of Algoma in the Anglican Church of Canada, in which Mr. Turner served as a priest.
