Symbolism

Arms

Red and white are chosen to portray the colours of Canada. The fleur-de-lis honours Mr. Muise’s French ancestry and the names of both his wife and his paternal grandmother. The tower with embattlements represents the military service of his father and grandfather.

Crest

An eagle displayed appears in traditional arms in Mr. Muise’s heritage. Here, it is differenced to allow the eagle to display a scroll, representing the educational profession of Mr. Muise.

Motto

Meaning “Conquer ignorance.”
